About this analysis. Grants are classified using a rule-based framework that maps project text (title, abstract, public health relevance) onto 12 CARES Act priority domains. Rules were designed by the research team and applied consistently using AI, then cross-validated across independent platforms. Each grant may be tagged with multiple domains (multi-label). FY2024 data comes from NIH’s completed spending-category review. FY2025 and FY2026 are drawn from the broader NIH RePORTER autism search—NIH has not yet completed its additional sorting for these years. A full methodology report with validation details accompanies this dashboard.
